David Gura, the famous reporter, was born in Austin, Texas, on September 2, 1984. He is in the field of journalism for more than 20 years. Gura attends the Universidad Mayor de San Andrés and the Universidad Católica Boliviana in Bolivia to study political science.

The anchor began his broadcasting career as an intern for “All Things Considered” at National Public Radio (NPR) and “The State of Things” on North Carolina Public Radio after completing his studies in political science.


David enrolled at Cornell University in 2006 to complete his undergraduate studies. He studied history as well as studies of America and Latin America there.  Gura started his profession in journalism as an editorial assistant at NPR after he completed his graduation.

Following that, the correspondent departed the station as Principal Backup Host and joined American Public Media as a Reporter for “Marketplace.” Gura began working as an anchor and correspondent for Bloomberg in 2015 before moving to MSNBC

David, has reported on a variety of commercial and fiscal issues through his career, demonstrating his in-depth knowledge of financial journalism. He worked for 3 years in  MSNBC as weekend presenter, reporter David Gura left the network in November 2020.

In a LinkedIn article expressing gratitude for his time at MSNBC and NBC News, he announced his retirement from the station.  The anchor returned to his previous position as an NPR correspondent after an 11-year hiatus from NBC News in 2010. 

Gura came back to Bloomberg as the flagship Big Take podcast anchor in February 2024, The network announced the news of his return, 

“Today we’re pleased to announce David Gura will be returning to Bloomberg as host of the flagship Big Take Podcast, joining Saleha and Sarah.”
